The annual pre-race day underwear run!

They started lining up at 5am to get their numbers.

Filtering into the water for the start.

Here is the swim start.
The race start's with a 2.4m swim.

The first person was out in 48:51.

Everything for riding must be on your bike and ready
for the 112m ride.

50mph wind gusts blew riders off the road.
This rider almost hit me!

You can see the white caps on the water near Hawi.

Steve and Ken slaving away in the edit room.

You end up running 26.2m.
Tim DeBoom is the winner at 8h:31m:18sec.

This is my favorite shot with Tim and the media.

Brown, from New Zealand finished 2nd.
15min. behind DeBoom.
He's talking to his expectant wife on the phone.
(If you look to the right in the background
You can see Ingrid shooting.)

A lot of racers collapsed at the end.
